Seabank Power Station is a 1,145MW gas-fired power station at Hallen Marsh in
Bristol ,England . It is sitauted beside theA403 road and Severn Estuary, just north ofAvonmouth and south ofSevern Beach , close to the boundary withSouth Gloucestershire . It is equally owned by
BG Group (former part of British Gas) andScottish and Southern Energy (SSE). It was built bySiemens and initially opened in 2000. It was built in two parts, with Seabank 1 (755MW) started in January 1996 and completed in March 2000. Seabank 2 (385MW) was started in January 1999 and was completed in January 2001. It connects to the National Grid, via a transformer, at 400kV. It provides enough electricity for the whole of Bristol.Seabank is a CCGT type power station that runs on natural gas. gas turbine s with twoheat recovery steam generator s (HRSG) and asteam turbine . The next built section consists of one V94.3A gas turbine, an HRSG and one steam turbine.
