Aritao is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Nueva Vizcaya,
Philippines . According to the2000 census, it has a population of 31,705 people in 6,276 households. The ethnic minority called Isinays (the same term for the spoken dialect) were the original residents of this town. The name Aritao came from the Isinay phrase ARI TAU which stands for "OUR KING" (ari=king & tau=our)which came up when the chieftain of the tribe won against the chieftains of the two other Isinay tribes Bambang & Dupax del Sur. by:--ENAC-- "Son of a true Isinay"History
In 1942, Japanese troops entered in Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya.
In 1945, during the liberation at the town of Aritao was fought the battles between the Philippine Commonwealth troops against the Japanese Imperial forces founded in the Battle of Kirang Pass in the
