Paoay, Ilocos Norte

Paoay is a 4th class municipality in the province of Ilocos Norte, Philippines. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 21,745 people in 4,567 households.It current mayor is Bobby Clemente.

Paoay Lake

Perhaps the most prominent feature of the municipality is Paoay Lake. Legend has it that it was the site of a barangay filled with wicked people buried under feet of water after ignoring the warning of a mysterious old woman who came to the place. On the shores of the lake lies a mansion that belongs to the Marcoses.
