Joshua Elder

Joshua Elder

Joshua Elder is the creator of the currently released manga Mail Order Ninja, which won the Rising Stars of Manga, along with others.

Life

Joshua Elder was raised in Carmi, Illinois. He now lives in Chicago, Illinois, where he works on his manga. Formerly, Joshua was also employed in Barnes and Noble bookstores, but he resigned to devote himself full-time to comics. At age thirteen, Joshua was given a bootleg copy of Akira from one of his friends, which is the main reason he attained his love for manga and anime. Like most mangakas, he is inspired by Miyazaki's movies, including Howl's Moving Castle. He is now twenty-eight. He states that he will presumingly make six volumes of Mail Order Ninja and will make even better manga in the future. Joshua has once been hit by a baseball bat and burnt by fire two times. He has also had dinner with Charlton Heston. Joshua has a love for cookie dough and can do a good impersonation of many stars.

In Cooperation with Erich Owen

Joshua Elder and Erich Owen work together to create the Mail Order Ninja manga series. Joshua creates the story, while Erich will draw the artwork. Once Joshua put up a forum for manga artists, Erich joined in and they went into business together, currently creating MON volume three.
