Boardman Center Middle School, located in Boardman, Ohio, is one of two public middle schools in the Boardman School District. The building, which used to serve as a High School, was established as a Middle School in 1969 [ [http://www.boardman.k12.oh.us/bdcm/BCMSindex2.htm Boardman Center Middle School ] ] and provides education for the fifth to eighth grades. It is currently under the administration of Randy Ebie and Joe Maroni. The school is located at 7410 Market Street, across from the Southern Park Mall.

Clubs and activities

Center Middle School provides a variety of activities for students. "BCMS TV" is the school's television center which broadcasts the school's morning announcements. Drama Club is an after school activity where students will learn speaking and singing skill reguired to produce a yearly play. In 2008, the school play was Aladdin JR. Robotics is a club for students with an interest in math in science. Even though the yearly competition at YSU was canceled, BCMS had two teams who competed against each other. In 2005, the winner went on to compete in the National Spelling Bee. Other activities include MathCounts, Underwater Spartans, PANDA, History Day, and Student Council.

Sports

BCMS offers many athletic opportunities to students. Some of the sports include: football, wrestling, basketball, volleyball, cross country, track, and cheerleading. Music

Music classes available at BCMS include Band, Orchestra, and Chorus. All fifth, sixth, and seventh graders are required to take a music class of their choice. In eight grade, music is an elective. All eighth graders that continue to take music take an annual field trip to Cedar Point in May.

The schools two guidance councelors are Mindy DePietro and Laura Hancock. Also, they monitor grades to make sure students are receiving a good education.
