Specimens of this species have been found in theClallam Formation and the underlyingPysht Formation on theOlympic Peninsula of Washington State. this species lived with several other crab genera and a mud shrimp of the "Callianassa " genus. This species has been assigned to the "Cancer" subgenus "Metacarcinus " by the describing authors.
