Lucy Ferry

Lucy Ferry (born Lucy Helmore in 1960) is a former model and London socialite who used to be Roxy Music lead singer Bryan Ferry's wife.

Ferry's father worked for many years at the Lloyds of London insurance corporation. She has been photographed by controversial photographer Robert Mapplethorpe, and has been a London socialite for years, attending parties and fashion shows. Helmore made an impact on the fashion world too, beyond her modelling assignments, with designers such as Christian Lacroix, Manolo Blahnik and Philip Treacy having cited her as an influence on their work [ [http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/3683752.stm BBC NEWS | Magazine | Faces of the week ] ]

She posed as the cover model for Roxy Music's last album "Avalon", wearing the helmet. Only 22 and with Ferry 14 years her senior, they married on June 26, 1982, at the Church of St. Anthony and St. George at Duncton, West Sussex. He supported her through resolving her drug addiction, after which they moved to Sussex and led a gentrified/countryside life style. The couple have four sons: Otis, Isaac, Tara and Merlin.

Ferry participated in Alcoholics Anonymous and other treatment for various substance abuse problems, such as a heroin addiction. She entered Farm Place clinic, near Ockley, Surrey for treatment.

When the Ferrys divorced on March 31, 2003, Helmore was cited for adultery by Ferry. Helmore was reportedly paid £10 million in the settlement, by which time Bryan had a relationship with Katie Turner. In October 2006, she married Robin Birley, the 48-year-old son of Lady Annabel Goldsmith.

Ferry's name has been in the British newspapers, documenting her support of her son Otis's efforts as a pro-hunting activist and at his trial in 2004 following his invasion of the British House of Commons.
