Chosil Kil

Chosil Kil is a Korean artist based in London, was born in 1975 in Seoul Korea. She graduated from the Royal College of Art, London in 2004. During her studies at RCA she took part in the making of the book JanFamily'Plans for other days'.
*Chosil Kil's work plays with different concepts of sentimentality, using objects from her personal history as relics. She treats these highly loaded objects with an intentional disrespect and creates a strong dynamic that questions the value we put in our lives and general ideas of preciousness. Chosil Kil works mainly sculpturally, but includes performative and text-based elements. She has had solo exhibitions at Cornerhouse (Manchester), [ [http://www.cornerhouse.org/art/info.aspx?ID=374&page=0 cornerhouse.org] ] La Bank (Paris), Lonnstrom Art Museum (Finland) and at Riflemaker Gallery (London).
