The 7th (Meerut) Division was an
infantry division of theBritish Indian Army . It was formed by General Kitchener while he was Commander-in-chief of India between 1902 & 1909. The division was sent to France at the outbreak of theGreat War , landing atMarseilles on 26 September 1914 as part of theIndian Corp . The corp was withdrawn in late 1915, and after that the 7th Division fought in Palestine.Order of Battle September 1914
