Care Net

Care Net

Care Net is a national network of over 1050 crisis pregnancy centers that offer long-term assistance to women facing an unplanned or crisis pregnancy. Care Net operates along a pro-life philosophy. Thus, its centers do not perform, recommend, or refer clients for abortions.

Care Net was founded in 1975 by Dr. Harold O.J. Brown as the Christian Action Council, and its initial purpose was to pursue public education and legal means to address the impact of legalized abortion resulting from the Roe vs. Wade decision. CAC opened its first affiliated crisis pregnancy center in 1980 in Baltimore, Maryland. Over time, CAC shifted its focus toward supporting crisis pregnancy centers, and changed its name to Care Net in 1993 to reflect this change.

Care Net is headquartered in the suburbs of Washington, D.C..
