Ratey Chu

Ratey Chu is a river in Sikkim, that is the main source of water supply for the capital Gangtok. Ratey Chu emerges from the glacial fed lake Tamze at altitude convert|12500|ft|m|abbr=on|lk=on. Ratey Chu river is tapped at an altitude of convert|8200|ft|m|abbr=on. From this Tapping Point or Water Supply Head Work (altitude 6800 ft.) water is transported to a distance of convert|17|km|mi|lk=on|abbr=on to Selep Water Treatment Plant site.
