Brian Murphy (born March 17, 1961 in Moncton, New Brunswick) is a former mayor of Moncton, New Brunswick and is the current Liberal Member of the Canadian House of Commons from Moncton—Riverview—Dieppe. After his term as mayor, he was succeeded by Lorne Mitton. His family has produced a multitude of politicians, including his cousin Moncton North MLA Mike Murphy. Currently, he works as a fairly prominent lawyer in Moncton.

Murphy was elected mayor in 1998, defeating the incumbent, and was acclaimed for re-election in 2001. He did not contest the 2004 municipal election. He was first elected to parliament in the 39th Canadian federal election where he succeeded Claudette Bradshaw. Prior to being elected mayor, he served on city council for several terms.

In the leadership convention called to replace Paul Martin as leader of the Liberal Party, he supported Bob Rae.
