Yonah Martin (b.
April 11 1965 ) is the candidate who will represent theConservative Party of Canada in the Canadian federal electoral district ofNew Westminster-Coquitlam ,British Columbia , in the next federal election. This riding also includes the southern part ofPort Moody , BC.A professional educator for twenty years, Yonah Martin graduated from the
University of British Columbia in 1987 with a Bachelor of Education degree and taught English and Drama at W.J. Mouat Secondary School inAbbotsford, BC , for fourteen years. She earned a Master of Education degree from theCity University of Seattle and, in 2001, moved her career toCoquitlam (S.D. 43), first to Moody Middle School, then Scott Creek Middle School. Currently she teaches atBanting Middle School in Coquitlam, although she resides inVancouver .Born in
Seoul ,Korea , Yonah immigrated to Canada with her family in 1972, settling inVancouver . With deep roots in both Korean and Canadian heritage, she became a prominent community figure in 2003 when she co-founded a non-profit organization, the Corean Canadian Coactive (C3) Society.
