Urgent Care Accreditation

UCAOA offered accreditation for urgent care centers for several years, accrediting 32 urgent care centers, but announced in July 2008 that it will cease its own program and collaborate with the Joint Commission to improve and further develop their existing Ambulatory accreditation program, including an applicability grid for urgent care centers. Centers may become accredited now, but the additional specificity provided by the applicability grids will not be available until 2009 (electronic version) and 2010 (printed version). Urgent Care Fellowship Training

UCAOA offers two fellowships in urgent care. The first in collaboration with Department of Family Medicine University Hospitals of Cleveland / Case School of Medicine and University Primary and Specialty Care Practices, Inc. The Journal of Urgent Care Medicine

UCAOA publishes the "Journal of Urgent Care Medicine" (JUCM). The Journal is published in conjunction with Braveheart Publishing. It has regular columns on medical coding, legal aspects of urgent care, occupational medicine. It also contains UCAOA updates and reviews of the literature related to urgent care medicine.
