*In 2003 Zwickel was a Merit Prize Winner of the Emhart Teknologies "Create the Future" Design Contest. Wisconsin Engineer Magazine

Zwickel is the faculty advisor for the quarterly magazine, which is older than the Badger Football team. During class meetings, Zwickel gives half hour to 45 minute lectures on various components of making a magazine. Lecture topics have included advertising, photoshop, layout, and writing. Zwickel hopes to one day have a popcorn machine for the class meetings; although a less optimistic student claimed that popcorn machines run from $200 to $1000 in price, in an unprecedented attempt to shoot down Zwickel's hopes.

Zwickel's goals for the Fall of 2008 include:
*Increasing involvement from students outside of engineering
*Revising assignments for students taking the course for credit
*Improving the organization of the project assigned to students who are in their third semester of the class
*Maintain the quality and style the magazine expects in each issue
*Have meetings whose purpose is to discuss the goals of the magazine
*Find out who created this web page (and misspelled his name) and punish the guilty

Zwickel stipulated that there need to be no major changes to magazine-related operations. He was adamant that the magazine was turning out fine the way things were; Zwickel even went as far as to cite the famous adage: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Misconceptions

Zwickel once confused Cold Stone (the ice cream chain) with Stone Cold Steve Austin (the wrestler). Zwickel did not appear to be embarrassed at all by this and he now knows the difference. Zwickel was accused of being a harsh grader of students taking the course for credit, however, these accusations are mainly unwarranted and come from a small collection of bitter students.

University Pride

A television commercial promoting UW-Madison ends with the motto "Forward. Thinking." . In early September 2008, Zwickel unknowingly revealed his commitment to this mission, when he told students that he was "already thinking of Fall 2009". Zwickel was unavailable to comment on this connection.

Incubator

Zwickel is the owner of a world renowned incubator.
