Madison Area Technical College (MATC) is the technical and community college for the Madison, Wisconsin area. It is among the largest of the 16 schools in the Wisconsin Technical College System, educating about 44,000 people per year. ref|1 It consists of ten campuses, with six located in Madison and four others in the nearby cities of Reedsburg, Watertown, Fort Atkinson, and Portageref|2

The college was founded in 1912 to serve the local Madison community. It resided in the former Madison Central High School location in downtown; in the 1980s the campus was largely moved to an east-side location near Madison's airport, Truax Field.

The school offers 115 associate degree and technical diploma programs, as well as other certifications and adult continuing education programs. In the 2003–2004 school year, 20,461 students were enrolled in degree-credit programs, 4,215 in adult basic education, 20,352 in adult continuing education, 3,517 in community service and 1,989 in ESL programs.

The current president is Dr. Bettsey L. Barhorst.
