Håkan "Zap" Andersson is a Swedish software engineer and musician.
Software engineering career
Currently Zap is persuing a career in computer graphics, working with rendering technology for mental images. He is the author of several popoular mental ray shader libraries, including the "subsurface", "architectural", "paint" and "production" libraries.
He houses a mental ray tips blog at www.mentalraytips.com, where various "tips and tricks" are posted at irregular intervals.
Master Zap as a Musician
Håkan also is a producer of electronic music. Known under the name "Master Zap", he has released music online since 1997, when he was one of the original 15 on the mp3.com website started by Michael Robertson in the same year.
In 1999 Zap started the band
Beat Symphony together withMichael W. Gilboe . The band appeared on Swedish morning TV and recorded a music video shot in a steam engine museum.Music Software
Zap has also used his software engineering for music: He is the author of two free (originally shareware) software programs for music synthesis, Stomper, the drum-sound synthesizing software, and Little Drummer Boy, a drum sequencer.
