The 68th Fighter Squadron (68 FS) was most recently part of the 347th Wing at Moody Air Force Base, Georgia. It operated F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft conducting air superiority missions.

History

The 68th provided air defense of Tongatabu from, June–October 1942 before going on to participating in combat missions in South and Southwest Pacific from, 12 November 1942–13 August 1945. It conducted air defense of southern Japan from, March 1952–1 June 1964. It again participated in combat operatinos in Southeast Asia from, August–December 1965.

It deployed aircraft and personnel to Saudi Arabia from, 26 June22 December 1991.
