Simon Corbell is an
Australia npolitician in theAustralian Capital Territory , and is one of the seven members of the Legislative Assembly electorate of Molonglo, representing theAustralian Labor Party . First elected in January 1997 in a countback following the resignation of former Chief MinisterRosemary Follett , he has been a minister in the Stanhope government since 2001, and at present is the Attorney-General, Minister for Police and Emergency Services and Manager of Government Business. Prior to the 2004 election he was Minister for Health and for Planning and Land Management.As Attorney-General, he has been involved in the establishment of the
Human Rights Act 2004 and the Human Rights Commission, as well as attempts to create legislation recognisingcivil union s in the ACT.Prior to his election to the Assembly, Corbell worked for Fraser MHR
