John Clarke is an English physicist and a Professor of Experimental Physics at University of California at Berkeley. He made significant contributions in superconductivity, and is a recipient of the Hughes Medal [cite web|url=http://physics.berkeley.edu/index.php?option=com_dept_management&act=people&Itemid=312&task=view&id=221|accessdate=2008-05-04|title=Physics @ Berkeley - Faculty -John Clarke|publisher=Physics @ Berkeley] . He was elected to the Royal Society.

Education

John Clarke received BA, MA, and Ph.D. in Physics from Cambridge University in 1964, 1968, and 1968, respectively.
