John Southgate

The Very Reverend Dr John Eliot Southgate (born 2 September, 1926, died 18 December, 1999) [http://www.ukwhoswho.com/view/article/oupww/whowaswho/U182029 Who's Who, accessed 6 July, 2008] is a former Dean of York in the Church of England; holding this post from 1984 until 1994 when he was replaced by the Very Revd. Dr Raymond Furnell.

He was educated at the City of Norwich School, and received a BA from Durham University in 1953, and a Diploma of Theology in 1955.
