Pola Raksa is a Polish movie star, very popular in Poland in the 1960s and 1970s. Raksa was born in
Lida on April 14,1941 . AfterWorld War II , together with her whole family she leftKresy and settled in Lesnica, a district of the city ofWrocław (see:Recovered Territories ).Her career started in the 1950s, when she was spotted by a reporter of the "
Dookoła Świata " magazine in amilk bar . He took some shots of her and Raksa appeared in the magazine as "Girl of the Week". Soon afterwards, she was offered her first cameos in movies. After graduating from 1st High School in Wrocław, she studied Polish Language, but changed her major and moved toŁódź , to actors' school. She graduated in1964 and in the same year debuted on stage. Between 1964 and1968 , she played in "Teatr Powszechny" in Łódź, then moved toWarsaw , to play in "Teatr Wspolczesny". In2003 readers of the "Super Express" daily chose her the best of all Polish blonde actresses. Raksa was awarder with several prizes.Selected filmography
