Tony Maylam

Tony Maylam (1943) is an English-born filmmaker. He began his career in 1972 with the film "Cup Glory", but his best-known film is the 1981 cult classic slasher film "The Burning", which was given a rating of R by the MPAA only after extensive editing of the violence.

He also helmed "The Sins of Dorian Gray", a 1983 made-for-TV adaptation of Oscar Wilde's novel "The Picture of Dorian Gray" that starred Anthony Perkins. 1992 saw the release of "Split Second", a sci-fi thriller starring Rutger Hauer.

Since that time he has primarily directed documentaries that focus on automobiles.
