- Irma Kurti
Irma Kurti (poetess and text-writer) was born in
March 20 1966 inTirana ,Albania . She was graduated in the University of Tirana, English Department in 1988. She has worked as a teacher of English and later on as a journalist in some newspapers, like “Mësuesi ”, “Dita informacion ” etc. In this period she has performed various training courses for journalism inGermany ,Norway ,Denmark ,USA ,France ,Italy ,Switzerland etc. For a lot of years Irma Kurti has written poetries, especially lyrical ones.Irma Kurti is one of the very few female poetesses in Albania that has contributed for a lot of years as a writer of the text songs. Her name is well known by the public because of participating in many song festivals and other concerts. Many of her songs are honored with prizes and they are still vivid at the minds of public. Some of her most successful text songs are: “Urimi yt”, “Mbrëmja që mban dashurinë time”, “Pranë të kaltrit det”, “E njejta ëndërr”, “Letër malli”, “Nuk iu zemërova pranverës”, “Të jem për ty Number 1”, “Befas zgjohem”, etc. In May 1998 she launched a cassette and a CD with her best songs in the years entitled : “E njejta ëndërr”(“The same dream”).Her latest book “Puthja e fundit”, (“The last kiss”) is a summary of lyrics, in which prevails the love and the greatest pain for the loss of her most beloved person, her mother, Sherife. The verses present unforgettable moments, memories, dreams and delusions, her everyday battle to defeat the pain, the suffering which now has become a part of her. Irma Kurti’s poetry is simple, her sincerity brings her closer to the reader. Her collaboration and experience with the music has enriched and given a new dimension to her poetry, which remains a permanent dialogue with the readers.Irma Kurti actually lives in Italy.Moikom Zeqo Books published by Irma Kurti
