Latrobe Elementary School is apart of the Latrobe School District. It was founded in 1864 by large landowner James Miller. The elementary school is located in
Shingle Springs, California approximately 0.5 miles (0.8 kilometers) east north east of Miller's Hill Middle School and 8.15 miles (13.12 kilometers) north east ofPonderosa High School , both additional schools found in the Latrobe School District. The school educates roughly eighty students. It does bost a preschool program for children aged 2-3. The school has grades kindergarten through third, a mid-sized cafeteria, and a future lanscape development plan ongoing its final design stage. Notable staff include Jean Pinotti (principal/superintendent) and Tracy Pearson (administrative secretary).Miller's Hill Middle School
Miller's Hill Middle School, being part of the Latrobe School District, was founded by the Latrobe School District in the mid 1950s in memory of James Miller. Miller's Hill Middle School educates just over one hundred students in fourth through eighth grade. A typical school-year falls between August and May. Additionally, the school offers an annual Miller's Hill Fun Run to help raise money for the district. The schoolyard features two basketball courts, a volleyball court, a playground, four four-sqaure squares, and eight buildings: office/gym, custodial shed, library/technology lab, and rooms 1-5. Notable staff include Jean Pinotti (principal/superintendent), Tracy Pearson (administrative secretary) and Bob Mueller (vice principal).
