Edinburgh University . Packshaw moved to New York in 1994 to work for Wand & Partners [http://www.wandpartners.com/] , before setting up his own business. Adventure, sports and travel are an important feature to his life. Packshaw has travelled extensively; having ridden horses across

In 1990 he represented Britain in theWhitbread Round-the-World Yacht Race [http://www.volvooceanrace.org/index.aspx?bhcp=1] . In 2005 he and Christina Franco took part and won a 450-mile race to the 1996 position of theMagnetic North Pole [http://polarrace.com/home/] .In April 2008 he went to the
Geographic North Pole withDavid Hempleman-Adams andRune Gjeldnes . In December 2008 he is taking part in the inaugural South Pole Race [http://www.amundsenomega3southpolerace.com/] , where teams cover the last 430 nautical miles to theGeographic South Pole on foot. The team will be competing for Great Britain against an international line up of teams including New Zealand, Norway, Russia and the USA.He is married to the fashion designer Tamsin de Roemer and they have two children.
