"Varudu"(Telugu:వరుడు) is an upcoming Tollywood film due to be released in early 2009. This film will be starring Mahesh Babu in the lead role. Trivikram is directing this film. The film launched on April 30, 2008.

The most awaited movie of next year (2009) which has Mahesh Babu as the hero is going to have its official launch on August 20th. This movie is titled as Varudu and is being directed by Trivikram Srinivas. Singanamala Ramesh is producing the film. When Trivikram Srinivas was asked about whether Parvati Melton or Tamanna Bhatia will play female lead, he answered that all three have equal importance in their roles and they are both female leads. Trivikram Srinivas is currently in Chennai to discuss the music with Mani Sharma. They will start filming the movie from the second week of September. S. S. Rajamouli was supposed to direct the movie at first, but there have been many changes. Sunil Patel, the cinematographer, makes his debut in to the Tollywood film industry. He has previously worked for movies like Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai, Hum Tum, Salaam Namaste, Bachna Ae Haseeno
