Brooklyn College 1951-53 then went on to being a photojournalist, filmmaker, United Hias Service, NYC 1953-57. Finally established as a writer beginning at theAmerican Cancer Society in New York (1958-63); United Nations, NYC and Rome, 1963-64 then as a self-employed writer since 1964.Visiting Professor of Investigative Journalism at the
University of California, Santa Cruz , 1986-92; lecturer for various universities. Fellow Guggenheim 1970- ; fellow,Adlai E. Stevenson College ;University of California , 1986-92; grantee American Council Learned Societies, 1971; recipient Laceno d'Oro (best screenplay), Neorealist Film Festival,Avellino ,Italy , 1983.Katz lives in
