Robert J. Fleming is a Seattle based non-profit accounting specialist. He is nationally known for his non-profit accounting expertise and is now considered a national resource for non-profit accounting.Fact|date=May 2008

Personal

Born March 25, 1951, in Canada, he moved to Seattle soon after birth. He went through the Seattle, WA school system where he attended Ballard High School. He was a varsity baseball and basketball player there. He graduated in 1973 from the University of Washington with a Bachelors of science degree in Business Administration. He currently resides in Bellevue, WA.

Business

Soon after college graduation Fleming was offered a job at Price Waterhouse (since merged to become Price Waterhouse Coopers) in Seattle, WA. He has worked in the accounting industry ever since; currently working for the last 17 years at a Bellevue, WA based firm, Clark Nuber P.S. [ [http://www.clarknuber.com. Clark Nuber PS : Certified Public Accountants and Consultants ] ] His niche is the non-profit industry, where he serves as Clark Nuber's shareholder and director of the not-for-profit division.

Fleming has served in many volunteer positions and on many Seattle area boards. He is a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants. He was a Past President, Board member and Treasurer, past inaugural Chairperson of Not-for-Profit Committee, past Chair of Education Committee, and past Accounting and Auditing Conference Chair of the WSCPA [http://www.wscpa.org] . He was a past Board member at: American Institute of CPAs [ [http://www.aicpa.org American Institute of Certified Public Accountants ] ] , The Evergreen State Society, Mercer Island Boys and Girls Club, Seattle Children’s Home, The Group Theatre, Windermere Community Association, Association of Government Accountants, and the University of Washington Accounting Development Fund. He has spoken numerous times at local and national conferences, including the AICPA National Not-for-Profit Conference on financial issues of not-for-profit organizations. He also has had numerous articles published on non-profit issues.
