Born March 25, 1951, in Canada, he moved to Seattle soon after birth. He went through the Seattle, WA school system where he attended Ballard High School. He was a varsity baseball and basketball player there. He graduated in 1973 from the University of Washington with a Bachelors of science degree in Business Administration. He currently resides in Bellevue, WA.

Soon after college graduation Fleming was offered a job at Price Waterhouse (since merged to become
Price Waterhouse Coopers ) in Seattle, WA. He has worked in the accounting industry ever since; currently working for the last 17 years at a Bellevue, WA based firm,Clark Nuber P.S. Clark Nuber PS : Certified Public Accountants and Consultants ] ] His niche is the non-profit industry, where he serves as Clark Nuber's shareholder and director of the not-for-profit division.Fleming has served in many volunteer positions and on many Seattle area boards. He is a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants. He was a Past President, Board member and Treasurer, past inaugural Chairperson of Not-for-Profit Committee, past Chair of Education Committee, and past Accounting and Auditing Conference Chair of the WSCPA [http://www.wscpa.org] .
