Joseph T. Ainsworth Volunteer Community Award

The Ainsworth Award, which is given to recognize individuals, groups and organizations for their volunteer contributions of time and talent to the patients of M. D. Anderson, was originally established in 1975 as the Community Service Award.

In 1987, the award was renamed for Joseph T. Ainsworth, M.D.

The Joseph T. Ainsworth, M.D. Volunteer Community Award honors Dr. Ainsworth and his continuing active involvement with many community projects as well as the award recipient each year.
