Zuby nehty (pronounced zoo-bi nech-ti, 'ch' as in 'loch') were an all-female rock group from the
Czech Republic . They formed under the name “Plyn” in 1979, released their first EP as “Dybbuk” in 1986, and broke up in 1999. They have connections with theprogressive rock groupUž jsme doma : saxophonist Alice Flesarová was once a member of UJD, and UJD leaderMiroslav Wanek produced some of their albums. Pavla Jonssonová has taught and researchedgender studies since 1993. Drummer Jana Modráčková went on to play trumpet forTraband and drums forKlec . The Czech phrase “zuby nehty” means "tooth and nail".Members
