A.I. Prince Technical High School is a technical high school located in Hartford, Connecticut. The school is one of 17 technical high schools in the Connecticut system. [http://www.cttech.org/]

History

A.I. Prince Technical School was the name given to the Hartford Trade School when it was moved from 110 Washington Street to the 500 Brookfield Street campus in October of 1960. The school was renamed after Albert I. Prince, former managing editor of The Hartford Times newspaper, he was also a member of the State Board of Education for 18 years and served as the Chairman of the State Board of Education for 12 years.

The Hartford Trade School was founded in 1915 on Washington Street and in 1958 construction for the Brookfield Street campus began, and in late 1960 the new school opened.

Prince Tech is currently in the process of remodeling, the new school began building in late 2006 and is set to be completely finished in early 2009. A temporary school was built to house the students and staff while the final school is finished, which will be added to the final school.
