Marquette F.C. is a Chicago-area soccer club located at Marquette Park, southwest side of Chicago. The team participates in Chicago's best hispanic leagues; Clasa, Hispano, and WYSA. The team was founded June 2005. Their first season in the competitive leagues, Marquette F.C. of all ages U-12, U-14, U-16, U-19 qualified top 5 in the rankings. Marquette F.C. not only give this opportunity to boys around the area, but also gave girls practicipating in the Marquette Park Soccer Association a chance to compete in city wide tournaments and leagues.

Expansion

This club team is an expansion to the Marquette Park Soccer Association which was founded in 1997 as a soccer league which consisted of 4 teams per division. (6-7), (8-9), (10-11), (12-13), and (13-14). Marquette Park Soccer Association is non-competitive making every child a winner. This league is a non-profit organization that provides an opportunity to any child who wants to have an activity after school to keep them active, and away from problems the City of Chicago is obtaining.Marquette F.C. was thought about to represent the Marquette Park Soccer Association in city wide tournaments and in competitive soccer leagues, such as CLASA, Hispano, and WYSA.

Marquette F.C. is not only known city wide, but also in the Mexican state of San Luis Potosí, where they past their 2007 summer preseason to play friendly games with local San Luis Potosí teams and the official San Luis F.C.(U-15) team. Thanks to the mayor of the state San Luis Potosí , Jorge Lozano Armengol all of this was possible for the young talented players. The mayor paid all the expenses for the Chicago team. This was a gift to Marquette F.C. because in the winter of 2007 the official San Luis F.C.(U-15) team came to Chicago for a tournament were they didn't face Marquette F.C. because they didn't make it to the final. But Marquette F.C. parents gave the San Luis F.C. players a tour of the city and took them many places to learn more about Chicago.

The girls team was (U-19) since they also wanted a few experienced girls on the team. At first it was under the name of "Princesas". This team later grew and a second team was created under the name Marquette F.C.

Club Name

When these teams were formed in 2005, they were officially named "Marquette Stars", it was kepted this way until mid April of 2008 were it was changed to Marquette Football Club "Marquette F.C." Before the start of the summer season in CLASA 2008.

Players

When the teams were being created. Every coach belonging to Marquettes Soccer Association selected players from each age level who they saw had the potential to play in competitive leagues and were registered in Marquette Park Soccer Association. Since many of the children were used to playing in non-competitive levels, before starting to compete the teams had intensive training and preparation. As the club grew kids were now able to join the club without being a participating in Marquettes Soccer Association.
