Greenhill School is an independent co-educational day school in Addison, Texas, United States.

Greenhill enrolls about 1,245 students from grades pre-kindergarten through to grade 12. The institution has more than 160 full-time faculty members and is situated on a 78 acre campus in Addison approximately convert|12|mi|km north of downtown Dallas. The school is a member of the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest (ISAS).

History and mission statement

Greenhill School was founded in 1950 by Bernard Fulton.

The school was ranked in the top 40 of public and private schools in the country by Worth Magazine in 2001 by virtue of the number of matriculants at Harvard, Princeton and Yale over a five-year period. The athletic program provides opportunities to participate and to compete in more than fifteen interscholastic sports.

Greenhill life

The average SAT scores for seniors in 2007 were 716 verbal, 728 math, and 697 writing, [cite web

The Greenhill mascot is the hornet, and the school colors are green and gold. Fact|date=October 2007

Since the school's move to its current campus at Spring Valley and Midway Road in Addison, the campus has also been the home to a large number of peacocks who roam freely amongst the students. Fact|date=October 2007

In 2006, the school constructed a new Lower and Preschool, as well as an addition to the Upper School. Fact|date=October 2007

The school has one of the most successful high school debate programs in the country. The team won the Tournament of Champions in 2000 (Policy--Asher Haig/Jordan Pietzsch), 2005 (Lincoln-Douglas--David Wolfish), 2006 (Policy--Mathew Andrews/Stephen Polley) and 2008 (Policy--Nicholas Rogan/Olivia Rogan) in addition to many other national competitions. The team also hosts the Greenhill Fall Classic which attracts schools from over 20 states. Fact|date=October 2007

The school newspaper is the Evergreen, which has been recognized as one of the leading high school publications in the country. The school's literary magazine, Montage, has also been recognized by The Columbia Scholastic Press Association, winning multiple gold and silver crowns over the years.
