Raised in Livermore, California, Wang (pronounced Wong) received numerous major awards while acquiring a Ph.D. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science with music minor from University of California, Berkeley. Having won many piano competitions, Wang was invited to perform as piano soloist with symphony orchestra 10 times, starting at age 10 when he won the Livermore-Amador Symphony's Concerto Competition.
