- Fumiko Nakajo
Fumiko Nakajo (中城ふみ子 "Nakajo Fumiko", real name 野江富美子 "Noe Fumiko",
November 25 ,1922 inObihiro ,Hokkaidō ,Japan -August 3 ,1954 inSapporo ) was a tanka poet. She died at the age of 32 after a turbulent life and a great struggle againstbreast cancer - all recorded in her poetry.There are memorials to her at the Tokachi Gokoku Shrine, beside the Obihiro Shrine, and behind the Obihiro Centennial Memorial Hall.
Film
"Chibusa yo Eien Nare" (The Eternal Breasts), the story of Nakajo, was directed by
Kinuyo Tanaka and starred Yumeji Tsukioka, Ryoji Hayama, and Yoko Sugi. It was made in black and white in 1955 byNikkatsu .Bibliography
