Prince Talal bin Muhammad

Prince Talal bin Muhammad of Jordan born July 26, 1965 in Amman, Jordan. He is the son of Prince Muhammad bin Talal of Jordan and his first wife Firyal Irshaid. He is the grandson of the late King Talal I of Jordan.

Education

As a child Prince Talal was educated at Harrow School in Middlesex, United Kingdom. He went on to join the military at RMA Sandhurst and once he had completed his training he went on to study at Georgetown University in Washington, DC.

Career

In 1991 Prince Talal joined the Jordanian Foreign Service, Military Section to King Hussein till 1994 afterwards he became the Minister of the Jordanian Embassy in Washington DC till 1996. He then went on to be the Director of National Security in Jordan from 1996-2001 during this time he wrote the book 'The Sacred Origin and Nature of Sports and Culture' in 1998. In 2001 he became the Special Adviser to the King and also the President of the National Demining and Rehabilitation Committee (NDRC).

Honours

Received the Grand Cross of the Royal Norwegian Order of Merit on April 4, 2000.

Personal life

Talal married Ghida Salaam a former researcher for ABC News in Amman, Jordan in July, 1991. The have two sons and one daughter:
*HRH Prince Hussein - born October 15 1999
*HRH Prince Muhammah - born 2001 (twin with his sister Rajaa)
*Princess Rajaa born 2001 - (twin with her brother Muhammad)
