Tramway line between Liberec and Jablonec
- Tramway line between Liberec and Jablonec
The 12 km long tramway line between cities Liberec and Jablonec nad Nisou in the Czech Republic is an intercity transportation system connecting these cities.
Its construction started in 1947 and the line became operational on January 1 1955. Its gauge is 1000 mm, while most of other tramway lines built in Czechoslovakia at this time had standard gauge. The line is single-rail track with some places upgraded to double track. Over the time the line was also upgraded for higher safety.
Future plans intend to replace this line with Tram-train [http://doprava.unas.cz/Cesko/LiberecJablonec/lj.htm] .
----The only similar intercity tramway line in the Czech Republic exists between Most and Litvínov.
