Tehrik-e-Jafria

Tehrik-e-Jafria or Tehrik-e-Jafria-e-Pakistan (TJP, literally "Movement for Shia Law") was a Shia militant group in Pakistan. It was formerly known as Tehrik-e Nefaz-e Fiqh-e Jafria. The organization was founded in 1979. Its leader, Allama Arif Hussain al-Hussaini was a student of the leader of Iran's Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khomeini. On October 19, 2001, TJP leader Allama Nazir Ahmed Abbas was shot and killed in his shop in Vehari. On January 12, 2002, Tehrik-e-Jafria was one of four militant organizations banned by the government of Pakistan.
