Mainstage Productions

Every year STaG produces three full scale shows in the Gilmorehill G12 building, home to the University of Glasgow's Theatre, Film and Television Studies department. This is a chance for members to be involved in a show in a professional space and also provides the perfect opportunity to put on a larger production with the support of STaG. Past productions in the G12 theatre have included' "The Country Wife," "Romeo and Juliet," "The World is Unreliable," and many more.

tudio Plays

STaG in the Studio is student theatre stripped down to its bare essentials: passion, innovation and talent. [ [http://www.stagstage.co.uk/studio.htm STaG Studio ] ] Studio plays provide an opportunity for smaller scale productions and give students a chance to experiment with form and content. Past shows have included "The Accidental Death of an Anarchist," "Oleanna," "The Pitchfork Disney," "Feeling Woyzeck," "Girl in a Goldfish Bowl," "Metamorphosis," and "Find Me," among others.

New Writing Festival

Each year four plays are selected by STaG to premier in Glasgow at the STaG in the Studio new-writing festival. From these, one is chosen by a panel of theatre professionals and University academics to represent STaG in Edinburgh at the Fringe Festival. This year's winner, "Dear Theo..." by Dawn Taylor, can be seen at the Bedlam Theatre at from the 11th to the 23rd of August (apart from the 17th) at 10.50am.

New Talent Play

The New Talent Play is designed to encourage as much participation in STaG as possible. The production is auditioned for, rehearsed, and performed within a maximum of two weeks at the start of the first term. This production gives priority to new members, and stipulates that all those who audition will be cast. [ [http://www.stagstage.co.uk/Newtalent.htm STaG New Talent ] ]

Community Theatre

Community theatre is a platform for students to perform a wide variety of plays in a myriad of locations. Community theatre is designed to give students an outlet for any performance ideas they may have that wouldn't necessarily be appropriate or viable for a theatre environment. Plays have been performed in nurseries, schools, on the subway, and in many other venues around the Glasgow University campus.

Playgroup

Playgroup is STaG's weekly writer's group, for those interested in creating and discussing new drama, and was founded in 2004.
