Reid Ryan

Reid Ryan

Reid Ryan (born April 21, 1971) is a former minor league pitcher, and the son of former baseball star Nolan Ryan. With his father and brother, Reese, he is a current part owner of the Round Rock Express.

Ryan was drafted out of Texas Christian University by the Texas Rangers, his fathers' team at the time, in the 17th Round (477th overall) of 1994 amateur entry draft. He pitched for the low A Hudson Valley Renegades in 1994, putting together a respectable 5-5 record with a 2.89 ERA and 1.30 WHIP in 84 innings. Ryan split 1995 between the A Charleston RiverDogs and High A Visalia Oaks, combining for an 0-10 record with a 9.34 ERA and 2.29 WHIP, ending his playing career.
