Background

Harnwell is currently a senior advisor on human dignity in the European Parliament. He is also the Chief of Staff to Nirj Deva MEP, the British Conservative Party’s International Development Spokesman in the European Parliament, who in 2006 was a candidate to succeed Kofi Annan as Secretary-General of the UN; and for whom Harnwell previously worked when Deva was a member of the British Government under Prime Minister John Major in the House of Commons in Westminster.
