May 18 ,1911 -October 29 ,1995 ) was a backupinfielder inMajor League Baseball , playing mainly atsecond base for theBoston Red Sox (by|1934) and Philadelphia Athletics (by|1936). Listed at 5' 11", 158 lb., Niemiec batted and threwright-handed . A native ofMeriden, Connecticut , he attendedCollege of the Holy Cross . In a two-season career, Niemiec was a .200 hitter (47-for-235) with onehome run and 23 RBI in 78 games, including 24 runs, three doubles, two triples and 27stolen base s.Niemiec died at the age of 84 in
