Dyzma Gałaj (1915-2000) was a Polish sociologist and a politician.
During
WWII he was a member of the Polish peasantBataliony Chłopskie resistance. After the war he would become a communist politicial activist, and study at theUniversity of Łódź . He would be member of the Polish parliament (Sejm ) from 1965 to 1985 andmarshal of the Sejm in 1971-1972, representing the United People's Party (ZSL). From 1972 to 1976 he was a member of thePolish Council of State . In politics, he was seen as a supporter of generalMieczysław Moczar .As a scholar, his work concentrated on the 20th century Polish peasants.
