Philip Goodrich

Philip Henry Ernest Goodrich was an Anglican Bishop [ The Times, Tuesday, Apr 27, 1982; pg. 14; Issue 61218; col E "Bishop of Tonbridge to be translated to Worcester"] for nearly quarter of a century. Born on 2 November 1929 he was educated at Stamford School and St John's College, Cambridge [ Who’s Who London, A & C Black,1992 ISBN 0713635142] . After this he studied for ordination at Ripon College Cuddesdon followed by a Curacy at Rugby in Warwickshire [Debrett's People of Today: Ed Ellis,P (1992, London, Debtrett's) p 1621 ISBN 1870520092] . Between 1957 and 1961 he was Chaplain of his old college before Incumbencies at Ormsby and Bromley. Elevated to the Episcopate as Suffragan Bishop of Tonbridge [Debrett's People of Today (Ibid)] he was translated to Worcester in 1982. He died on 22 January 2001..
