Mad at Gravity was a progressive rock band from Southern California that formed in 2000. Their debut album "Resonance" was released under ARTISTdirect records. The band split up in 2003 because vocalist J. Lynn Johnston left the band and the four remaining members were unable to find a replacement.

The name 'Mad at Gravity' came from a poem Johnston wrote at age nineteen. Johnston stated that it "just jumped out" and "it had so many applications."

Even before the band had played in public, they were an internet sensation. They were said to have had a different type of feel to their music with intelligent lyrics through unorthodox rhythms and unexpected chord patterns. The band had only 10 gigs during 2 years of their existence.Fact|date=June 2008
