Artist Information

Aggi Dukes is a Producer/Artist/Performer. His style of producing/mc’ing draws influence from the many genres of music that he listens to. His motto is “If I like to listen to it then I will make it”. It is because of this attitude that his music can be so different on a track-to-track basis but yet be so similar in an overall context. Influences range from Nirvana to N.W.A, from 2pac to Cold Play, Hip hop to Hed Kandi. All of these influences show in his music.

Biography

Aggi Dukes (‘Dukes’), formerly Aggrovation, started rapping and producing in school in the late Nineties. As a youngster, Dukes also hosted some of his college shows and co-hosted a show with UK rap veteran and Mercury award nominee, TY and Dj Pogo. Dukes has performed with diverse artists ranging from jazz musician Courtney Pine to UK rapper Iceberg Slimm and has performed around the country. Dukes has performed in front of thousands of people getting a good response and respect for his craft. He has graced some of Britain’s well-known stages, including Camden’s Jazz Café, central London hot spot 10 Rooms and East London’s Excel centre.

Dukes accompanied this commercial drive by hosting very popular underground pirate radio shows on the award winning Rinse FM and Mystique FM, where he emceed alongside Grime Godfather Wiley (rapper) and other members of the Roll Deep Crew.

Achievements and Credits

Apart from Radio, Dukes has appeared on most of the terrestrial TV channels; a documentary for channel 4, performing on the BBC stage for the Olympic bid Countdown and also appearing live on ITV’s ‘Breakfast with Alistair Stewart’ with Beat Box Legend Killa Kela.

Dukes also featured on the compilation cd “Big N Bashy Presents Clash Me Vol.1” with the likes of MOBO award winner, Sway, Broke n English and Hip Hop Royalty, Fallacy, Dynamite MC and Rodney P.

On top of radio and TV appearances, Dukes has featured in national broadsheet paper ‘The Times’ where he was hand picked from 100 case studies as a good representation of a young entrepreneur. [ [http://www.timesonline.co.uk The Times] ]

Whats next?

As well as the release of this MixTape, Dukes currently has a track on EA Sports release “FIFA Street 2” with Killa Kela, an EP in production an is working on his debut Album: “From the Manor to the Big Screen”.
