Robert Baird McClure CC (1900 –
November 10 ,1991 ) was a Canadian physician, medicalmissionary , and the 23rdModerator of the United Church of Canada from 1968 to 1971.Born in
Portland, Oregon , the son of a medical missionary, he spent the first fifteen years of his life inChina .He graduated from the
University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Medicine in 1922. In 1923, he was appointed a medical missionary toHenan , China and served until 1948. He was the only medical missionary inIndia and China who was able to provideradium treatment forcancer . He was also on the staff of the Church Missionary Society Hospital atGaza , Palestine.In 1971, he was made a Companion of the
