Gregory Marshall Chait

Gregory Marshall Chait is a lawyer concentrating on mergers and acquisitions and securities law matters. He is a partner in Alston & Bird, LLP, resident in Atlanta, Georgia. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia on October 4, 1960. He was educated in Atlanta private schools, and received his B.A. from The George Washington University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Chait received his J.D. from The New York University School of Law in June 1985. Chait was an associate at Mudge Rose Guthrie Alexander & Ferdon, L.P. in New York City from September 1985 until August 1989; an associate at Shea & Gould, L.P. in New York City from September 1989 until January 1992; and General Counsel of Insignia Financial Group, Inc., a NYSE listed company, from February 1992 until August 1993. Chait has been recognized by his peers for his expertise in structured finance matters in "Best Lawyers in America" since 2006. Chait is married with two daughters and resides in Atlanta, Georgia and Tybee Island, Georgia.
