John Lescroart (b.
January 14 1948 inHouston ,Texas ) is an Americanauthor best known for two series of legal and crimethrillers featuring the charactersDismas Hardy andAbe Glitsky .Lescroart, (pronounced "less-kwah") is a writer with a highly diverse background. He has spent time as a computer programmer, an Ad Director, moving man, house painter, bartender, legal secretary, fund-raising executive and management consultant. All along maintaining key interest in music and writing. His very first novel
Sunburn became a reality when a former high school teacher's wife entered the book, in John's name, to the Joseph Henry Jackson Award given by the San Francisco Foundation for Best Novel by a California author. His book beat out 280 other entrants for the prize. Even then, the book wouldn't be published for another four years and was limited to paperback edition only.His novels include "Hard Evidence" (1993), "Nothing but the Truth" (1999), "The Oath" (2000), "The First Law" (2003), "The Second Chair" (2004) and "The Motive" (2004).
Lescroart graduated from Junípero Serra High School, San Mateo,
California (Class of 1966), he then went on to earn a B.A. in English with Honors at UC Berkeley in 1970. He enjoys cooking, playing guitar, (having written over 500 songs) and spending time with his children, and dislikes unpleasant weather. John has written several screenplays.Bibliography
